Today I tried something I'd been thinking about for a while. I clamped the camera to a railing on Baths Bridge and used a long cable release to take photos as the runners flew past. Did it work? Yes and no. A short, fast lens on ISO 800 meant I got a fast shutter speed, but my fears about the autofocus were realised. Out of 770 photos, 458 were deleted because they were hopelessly out of focus. Sorry if you were one of the parkrunners who were missed, and sorry if you weren't! It gives me some ideas for next time though.
